Volunteers

We at Emmaus Kindergarten are proud to offer a possibility for people from outside of Namibia to stay in Karibib and work at the Kindergarten. There they can experience Namibia and especially the children of this country. 

We are getting two volunteers every year, who are working in the Kindergarten from August to July. Our partner organisation Volunta – DRK Hessen places them to us. In addition there are some private people, who are coming for a few months.

The volunteers are here as a teacher. They conduct preschool lessons with the five year old children.  In the afternoon they give classes for the pupils to help them with their homework and studying for tests. At the end of the lesson there is some time to play puzzles, reading books or do games in the group.

For the volunteers there is the possibility to start their own projects. The last volunteers started Mathematics and English lessons for adults. The current volunteers continue this project. At the moment they offer two lessons in a week.

We are glad to get young people from other countries to exchange our different cultures and combine them. It’s a process of learning from each other and to support the global cooperation.
